As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, we are happy to introduce Maritza Archer. She was born and raised in Haiti and moved to New York at age 15, and she has been a part of the DDI Family as a Supported Employment Manager for nearly 13 years.

As we continue our Black History Month celebration, we are pleased to introduce long-time employee Tivoni Carruthers.

Our Early Childhood Services classes are learning about transportation, utilizing the NYC Interdisciplinary Units of Study Curriculum.

Through the Discovery Dairy Adopt a Cow Program, Classroom C2 from our Early Childhood Services Program adopted a cow as their virtual class pet.  The program was introduced to the families as well, and through a naming contest, the calf has been named Clarabelle.

As we celebrate Black History Month, we are excited to celebrate long-time DDI staff member, Joseph Muniz.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of the history, culture and achievements of African Americans throughout the past, present, and future. The month of February is dedicated to telling these stories and showcasing the many talents, contributions, and influences made by African Americans.

Our DDI Maintenance and Transportation Departments have been taking great care to ensure the health and safety of the individuals we support, as well as our staff members!

During these challenging times, it is crucial that DDI students, program participants and residents feel connected, stay curious, and continue their personal and educational development.

Throughout the pandemic, we have steadfastly pledged to make health and safety our top priority. Getting the COVID-19 vaccination, along with our continued safety practices, is now the most essential way to fulfill that pledge.
