Board Member, Joseph W. Schmidt, Esq.

Joseph W. Schmidt joined the DDI Board of Directors in 2017, and is a member of the Fundraising, Human Resources and Board Development Committees. Prior to joining the DDI Board of Directors, Joseph was actively involved in DDI’s Foundation Board since 2004, having served as Board President, Vice President and Secretary.  Joe was also a member of the DDI Golf Committee for a number of years. 

Joseph has over thirty-five years of experience in the practice of law, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property law. He is currently Senior Counsel for the law firm Rowntree Law Group, PLLC, of Ridgefield, CT.

Joseph obtained a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and received his J.D. from St. John’s University.   He lives in Wantagh, N.Y. with his wife, Terri, and is also active in his community, serving as a Board Member for the Wantagh Little League for many years. His son, Bobby, receives services from DDI.
