Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) is an independent, locally run charity, governed by an independent Board of Directors comprised of leading community and business leaders. As a 501(c)(3), DDI is a highly cost-efficient organization on Long Island, directing 91 cents of every dollar raised to support our program impact. DDI has earned the highest achievable rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest and most-utilized independent charity evaluator that helps donors make informed decisions about their charitable contributions.
 
DDI adheres to stringent financial controls and a system of checks and balances that is monitored bi-monthly by the Finance Committee. All aspects of our finances are subject to an annual independent audit by a respected certified public accounting firm, BDO USA, P.C.
