When you step into the Early Childhood Program in Huntington, you're immediately greeted by the warm smile and welcoming presence of Aurora Matos, the heart of the front desk. With a background as a Teacher’s Assistant, Aurora brings a deep understanding of classroom dynamics and student needs, making her an invaluable asset to both staff and families.
Aurora’s commitment to safety and preparedness is unmatched. Trained extensively in emergency procedures, she ensures that every student and staff member feels secure. Her dedication is evident—she consistently arrives early and stays late when needed, ensuring the front desk is always covered and the building runs smoothly.
Beyond her front-line responsibilities, Aurora expertly manages a range of administrative tasks. Alongside two colleagues, she helps coordinate and distribute quarterly and annual reports for 125 students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring timely communication with parents and school districts. Her bilingual skills are a tremendous asset, allowing her to connect with Spanish-speaking families, translate important documents and assist during tours and meetings.
