SMITHTOWN, NY – Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), a leading Long Island care provider for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, is thrilled to announce its rescheduled “Annual Walk” at The Suffolk Credit Union Arena at Suffolk County Community College’s Brentwood Campus raised over $117,000 on Saturday.
Hundreds of families, staff, clients and supporters came together to walk in support of DDI’s mission, raising vital funds for programs that empower children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. In addition to an indoor walk in the arena, there were also carnival games, music, a magician and a photobooth, creating a fun and inspiring day for all ages. The event was originally set to be held at Belmont Lake State Park in September but had to be rescheduled due to the weather.
“This event is a beautiful reminder of the power of our community – a community of the people we support, families, employees and friends of the organization.” said Kim M. Kubasek, CEO, DDI. “The generosity of our supporters directly strengthens DDI’s mission, allowing us to continue providing life-changing services to the children and adults in our programs.”
“Corporate Synergies is proud to be the presenting sponsor for DDI’s Walk in the Park,” said Victor Dezelic, Senior Vice President, Corporate Synergies. “This event is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of inclusion, community, and the incredible impact DDI has on the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. We are honored to stand alongside DDI in their mission.”
The funds raised will go directly towards enhancing DDI’s educational, residential, vocational and therapeutic services, enriching the lives of the people we support and helping them to reach their full potential.
