We are pleased to introduce Cherae, who has been a DDI family member for almost three years and is currently a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in one of our children’s residences. “My favorite part about working at DDI is working with the kids and building a relationship with them. I also love seeing them grow each and every day,” said Cherae.
Cherae says Pride Month is just like any other month to her because she is “gay all year round!” Pride month just ends with a huge celebration.
When thinking about the struggles and obstacles she has endured, Cherae shared that in middle school she was grasping at the understanding that not everyone was going to accept her for who she was. “I think people can allow everyone to just be themselves. Focus on what pertains to them and only them,” said Cherae. She believes you should do whatever makes you happy because, at the end of the day, it’s your life.
