Our guest tomorrow is DDI alumna Christine Ponzio. The former Director of DDI’s Young Autism Program, and more recently the Director of Communications, Christine now serves as the Executive Director of the Winters Center for Autism (WCFA), a non-profit affiliated with the Winters Family Foundation.
The Center has been described as a dynamic partnership dedicated to shoring up the huge gap in services and opportunities for adults with autism. In that respect, it shares in the good work in which DDI has been engaged for so many years. The WCFA addresses this need by identifying skills and talents of participants and matching them with businesses and organizations open to creating jobs for capable and trained employees. It is expected that this initiative will foster a “kinder and more inclusive Long Island community.”
