Taking Part in Valentine's Day Festivities!

Residents from our Adult Services Program got festive this month with a Valentine’s Day Cookie and Card Exchange with their sister houses!

One of our Direct Support Professionals shared her grandmother’s sugar cookie recipe with everyone, and once they baked the heart-shaped cookies, the real fun began— decorating and tasting! This was a delicious way to stay connected while enjoying a little friendly competition. Congratulations to our “Best Cards” Winner and “Most Creative Cookies” Winners.

Valentine’s Day was also extra special at our Adams Avenue Day Hab this year! Participants made eight homemade wreaths using foam circles wrapped in strips of cotton fabric. They made felt flowers from a template and attached them to their wreath by gluing them onto the fabric. This activity proved to be a fun exercise enhancing their fine motor and social skills development. The wreaths really brightened the site, and, in some cases, made heartfelt gifts for loved ones. Stay tuned to see how they will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
