Congratulations to Carmela Floro-Recent Reaching Up Program Graduate

The Reaching Up Program is a 12-credit program for direct care staff assisting individuals with developmental disabilities. The coursework, which includes Introduction to Developmental Disabilities, Introduction to Psychology, Health Concepts, and Community Residence Management, has been designed to provide a rich foundation for career and professional growth in our field.

Of particular note is the fact that Carmela was a principal speaker at the graduation ceremony. Carmela was eloquent in her address as she reflected upon the challenges and triumphs of pursuing education as an adult student.

By participating in the Reaching Up Program, Carmela and all the graduates are on an educational pathway toward rich and successful careers.  The program is often the departure for continued education leading to an associate’s degree - and more.

We wish Carmela and all the graduates success as they advance their educations and avail themselves of the many and varied academic and career opportunities that lie ahead!
