Students and staff from the Children’s Day Program (CDP) got to enjoy some delicious soft-serve ice cream on Friday, August 9th.
This afternoon was sponsored by CDP and made possible by funds collected through the Lunch Program.
This program offers convenience and, most importantly, multiple learning opportunities for the children. Students from classrooms participating in the program gather lunch orders to various community restaurants, pick up the food, and sort and distribute the orders five days per week.
A small profit is earned with each transaction and the monies collected are put back into the classrooms for various student activities, celebrations, educational materials – and a sweet treat from Mister Softee.
